Minutes of the 18 November 2009 Meeting

The meeting was opened at 12:30pm by Richard Steves, chair.
Review of Minutes:
Minutes approved as amended.
Merle & Bonnie Berger Discussion; Isolated Wetland (Area III) Enforcement Order Decision:
Ms. Berger and Mr. Fischer came to discuss the recent enforcement order that was issued for the Berger property – AP 27-15.1. After much discussion it was agreed to delineate the edge of the isolated wetland with field stones. It was also agreed that the owners will communicate with the Commission before and future weeding or cutting is done in this area.
Administration:
RFD Reid Silva for Grin Acres Family LP; AP 21-13: Mr. Silva reviewed the plan to install a new well and abandon the existing well. Hay bales will be placed around the drilling area. Drill spoils will be removed from the work site. The existing well will be cut off below grade and filled with clean sand. The existing waterline and electrical service will be utilized and extended to tie into the new well. The work will take place in the buffer zone of a bordering vegetated wetland and will be approximately 38 feet from the wetland edge. After discussion a motion was made and seconded for a negative determination and was unanimously approved.
RFD Chris Alley for Joel Harrison; AP 33-114: Mr. Alley summarized the plan to replace a failed septic system with a Title V system. The work will take place in the 100-foot buffer zone of Nashaquitsa Pond. The closest part of the work will be approximately 91 feet from the edge of the pond. After brief discussion a motion was made for a negative determination. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved.
